100 questions with the UKE-board
Uka in Ås is celebrating its 100th anniversary, and therefore I sat down with the UKE-board, consisting of UKE leader Ingeborg, administration manager Helene, event manager Emilie, party manager Jakob, house manager Albert, marketing manager Janihar, revue manager Aurora and finance manager Magnus to ask them 100 questions. Or not exactly 100, because we neither have the time or space for that, but 30 is the new 100, right?

1. So, who of you always arrives first to the meetings?
Janihar, without a doubt.
2. Who is always late?
Magnus! He is always late. Aurora is on second place, though.
3. Who is the most stubborn?
Our leader, Ingeborg!
4. What do you guys truly think about orange?
It can be a bit harsh, but it’s great for spotting people. If it is the right shade, it is actually a really nice autumn colour!
5. But how are you doing, reeeally?
Well, we’re doing great! Ask the same question on Monday, and we will see if the answer changes, hehe.
6. How is the planning at UKA going?
We’ll see if it happens? Haha no, the planning is going great! And then we will see how the execution goes.
7. Is there anything you guys have been in complete disagreement about?
Yes! No! Yeah! Absolutely not!
Well, we had a bit of a disagreement at the beginning about which sponsors to have, but we were able to work it out in the end. At least we haven’t torn each other apart yet!
8. What do you do when you really want to mess around?
We put up so many orange notes around campus that the management at NMBU calls us to ask what we are up to.
9. What is your go-to shot at Johannes?
Unanimously, Jægershots!
10. You had dinner with the principal, Siri. How was it?
Very enjoyable! She is a lovely woman.
11. Did you get any juicy gossip?
Sadly, no. We have to dig a little deeper next time!
12. We have heard some rumours that she is not attending the premiere?
Yeah, she apparently had planned a vacation at that time. However, Ingeborg has emailed other principals in Norway and Sweden, so let’s hope some of them can come instead!

Pentagon, unanimously.
14. Babylon or NT-kiosken?
NT-kiosken!!
15. Why is it called UKA (the week), when it lasts an entire month??
It used to last only one week, called the student week (studentuka). But they thought it was a bit too short, and then it became longer and longer throughout the years. They probably had more messing around to get done!
16. How many litres of beer are sold during UKA?
Around 10 000 litres.
17. Which UKE-year do you think was the best?
It has to be 2024 (they say humbly).
18. What are your favourite revue songs?
“Autofil is pretty good!”, Aurora says, but is interrupted by Albert: “Dyr i drift!”
19. If you could go back in time and see a UKE-revue, which one would you pick?
To see the first UKE-revue from 1924 would be pretty cool.
20. All the artists from UKA have been announced, but who would you have liked to see behind one of the blurred names?
We actually tried to get Vazelina Bilopphøggers, but they are determined to stay dissolved, unfortunately.
21. Festsalen or Aud Max?
Aud Max!! It’s the biggest one, and that’s where the revue is.
22. Pre-party or afterparty?
Everyone is voting for the pre-party, except for Helene, who prefers the afterparty.
23. Which song do you guys play to boost the mood?
“Måneden, året, livet”, “I kjempeform” and “Surfbrett” are great for boosting the mood! We also never say no to “Fugledansen”.
24. Socks in sandals, yay or nay?
Yay! (Ingeborg is wearing them).
25. Which hated piece of clothing should become the “UKE-outfit”? Could “UKE-crocs” or “UKE-one-piece” ever see the light of day?
UKE-crocs actually exist!
26. What is your best UKE-memory?
Klovner i kamp in 2020 or KA2 in 2022 was lit.
27. Always or never wear black clothes?
Always!
28. You don’t happen to have plans to repeat the stunt from the 70s and invite the king to the revue, do you?
The king is always invited! Aurora actually delivered the invitation to the Queen in person.
29. What can we expect to see on Sløyfa this year?
The biggest and the best one in many years (they say humbly).
30. Will this be the best UKA ever?
Yes!
