Tuntreet presents: Student fashion
Spring is approaching fast, which means that it is finally time for all you fashionistas to get out of your winter jackets and express your inner world through clothing. Tuntreet's own Fashion Board (that is definitely a real thing and has existed for a while) has decided to give you some inspiration for your fresh spring wardrobe by acquainting you with the great stylish students of the past. Treat it as an aesthetic moodboard if you will.

Smart and/or casual
Starting off strong, we have the casual yet preppy look. Suited and ready to solve important issues with a pipe in your mouth and a fancy hat on your smart head. This is a timeless look for a true gentleman.
You can also tone it down with a cozy cardigan and socks with a fun pattern. Finish your outfit with a pair of sunglasses. Cool, sophisticated and, dare we say, sexy?
Groovy grooming
A good outfit is nothing without good grooming. Since 70s are in style again, why don't you be the one to bring back the bakkebaarden (that's 'sideburns' in Dutch)? Or a wild 'stache? When styled properly (we recommend flared pants and a knit vest over a shirt) you own the discotheque, even if that discotheque is in your 8 m2 room.
And here we have the Tuntreet legend Ole Bjerke sporting a beautiful balance of a summer suit and a sandal-sock combo. Tuntreet Fashion Board approves.
Smokin’ hot
We do not encourage you to take up smoking, however, we cannot look past the fact that a cigarette can elevate your look even more than any funky hairstyle would. Just look at this handsome lad in a striped shirt! With such a man you are in for a treat in the form of a spontaneous lecture about IPAs and the cinematography of Blade Runner 2049. Maybe even a cheeky poem reading incoming? We know you secretly love those!
She Could Have Dropped Her Croissant
Staying on the topic of stripes, a good French tee with a babushka headscarf (appropriated by A$AP Rocky a couple of years ago for the benefit of all slavaboos) can bring out the mysteriousness of your presence. Is she from Paris or has she just begun using Duolingo? We may never know.
Tortured artists
Despite NMBU being full of STEMs*, we are aware that there are plenty of students expressing themselves through art. And we love it! The Fashion Board recommends not shying away from showing your artistic side. The white-boy-with-an-acoustic-guitar trend, for instance, will never go out of style. Utilize it, preferably with a dreamy, melancholic gaze. [Insert a “Here’s Wonderwall joke here”]
*Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics students
Naughty or nice
Now, we have seen enough of sophistication at NMBU. Maybe this spring you need a reinvention? A bit of the tra$hy and fla$hy feel to an otherwise boring every day? Well, our fellow students got you here as well! Whether it is the white gangstaboi feel to spice up your guttastemning or layers upon layers of neon and chunky belt goodness - we see you!
Andreas…
Despite Andreas Wahl not being an NMBU student, the Fashion Board could not help but include him into this moodboard as his 2012 look, captured for Tuntreet almost a decade ago, exemplifies the nerdy-but-cute aesthetic that some of you could be acing this spring. Just do not overdo it with those high-top 2mm sole sneakers he used to love in 2010s. We love you here at the Fashion Board, Andreas. Again, this is not just one single person writing this article.
No comment. The shoes speak for themselves.
Express yourself
This spring is a great chance to bloom and step out of your comfort zone. Step out towards a massive disco ball graffiti with your small disco ball in hand. Drain your innocent hair in some got2b hairgluegel and sing to Basshunter's Now You're Gone. Curl your hair and wear a fancy ball gown. Walk your tweed jacket and dress pants along the trashcans. It is no time like right now to truly express yourself! Have fun!
